The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve maintenance productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, material, and equipment access.  Responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work orders by managing work priority, assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with developing job plans, defining required parts, materials, crafts, and skills. Assigns work orders to the appropriate Team Leader/Project Manager for execution by the PMC/Embedded contractor maintenance team. Provides equipment-related expertise; technical guidance on improving maintenance activities.  This position is the owner / manager of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), or Oracle at the plant level.  Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with improving equipment reliability and improved asset availability by 1) Developing efficient maintenance schedules through the review and planning of work orders and project timelines. 2) Actively managing our parts inventory to meet production demands.  The Maintenance Planner is required to interact and communicate regularly with Operations and Maintenance. Not only is the maintenance planner’s role to interact with these groups, he serves as an integral member of the relationship between the groups by acting as a liaison between them by communicating maintenance schedules, providing maintenance updates to the appropriate business units and all affected facility personnel.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for making sure maintenance technicians/embedded contractors have the tools and parts they need to complete work orders.
  2. Perform administrative duties in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  3. Directing and executing the site’s proactive maintenance program.
  4. Scheduling all planned maintenance activity at the site.
  5. Kitting parts for scheduled and unscheduled projects and repairs.
  6. Work with operations personnel to understand work order job descriptions when required.
  7. Order parts and equipment required for planned corrective maintenance.
  8. Determine the spare part requirements to support production and the facility.
  9. Work order tracking.
  10. Maintain an accurate and up to date work order list in SAP using proper codes.
  11. Ensure parts are delivered and on site for all planned work order.
  12. Support the Maintenance Manager & Supervisor on a day to day basis to ensure plant maintenance objectives are met.
  13. Determines the spare part requirements to support production and the facility.
  14. Preparing site maintenance performance data as required.
  15. Assist the Tool clerk manage the site’s spare parts inventory, including weekly monitoring of inventory.
  16. Ensure parts are delivered and on site for all planned work order.
  17. Work with Production Team, Supervisors, and Management to ensure assets are prepared for all Maintenance work as scheduled.
