The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve maintenance productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, material, and equipment access. Responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work orders by managing work priority, assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with developing job plans, defining required parts, materials, crafts, and skills. Assigns work orders to the appropriate Team Leader/Project Manager for execution by the PMC/Embedded contractor maintenance team. Provides equipment-related expertise; technical guidance on improving maintenance activities. This position is the owner / manager of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), or Oracle at the plant level. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with improving equipment reliability and improved asset availability by 1) Developing efficient maintenance schedules through the review and planning of work orders and project timelines. 2) Actively managing our parts inventory to meet production demands. The Maintenance Planner is required to interact and communicate regularly with Operations and Maintenance. Not only is the maintenance planner’s role to interact with these groups, he serves as an integral member of the relationship between the groups by acting as a liaison between them by communicating maintenance schedules, providing maintenance updates to the appropriate business units and all affected facility personnel.
